Domaine Bernard Defaix - New Arrival

Bernard Defaix, fourth generation of a family of vine-growers, started in 1959 with 2 hectares. At about this time, the first techniques for protecting vineyards from spring frosts were discovered. The 27 hectares of the domain have been turned into organic farming. The chablis' freshness and minerality are more than ever remarkably enhanced. The 2011 vintage is the result of the three years of transition. The wines are more than ever marked with their terroir. Côte de Lechet, Vaillons, Lys are the three premiers crus the more emblematic. Chablis and Chablis Vieilles Vigne are also exceptional. On the special issue "The Burgundians of the year" Dec 2011/Jan 2012, the magazine Bourgogne Aujourd'hui has selected Domaine Bernard Defaix for the steadiness of its progress and the for the very chablisian style of their wines.
