"(RP=89) The 2012 Pinot Noir Galets Oligoc’åne is darker colored and more intense, musty and meaty in its concentrated fruity and floral flavors on the nose than the 2011 predecessor. The dark berry and raspberry aromas on the nose are repeated on the palate which is more powerful, sweet and concentrated and provided with more tannins compared to the 2011 which was built on freshness, finesse and elegance. The 2012 is juicy, fleshy and intense on the palate and its tannins are structured and perfectly integrated. I personally prefer the reduced and delicate style and taste of the filigreed 2011 at the moment though the potential of the rather powerful, dense and well-structured 2012 is doubtlessly greater. (AG=88) Dark ruby-red. Slightly subdued aromas of ripe red cherry and berries. Hints of spicy licorice and flinty rocks complicate the red cherry flavor. Finishes saline and long. This is quite good, but I prefer the perfumed lift and the fruity charm of the 2013, although it may be that I caught the 2012 in a dumb phase. Made from the same vineyards as the 2013, but the grapes were healthier in 2012."
