(AM=90) This has largely eaten its wood treatment and only a trace remains on the nose that exhibits notes of mineral reduction, spice, petrol and plenty of citrus elements. There is a slightly finer mouth feel to the rich, generous and seductive flavors that terminate in a saline, dry and focused finale. Lovely. (RP=89) The 2015 Chablis 1er Cru Cote de Lechet comes from 35-year-old vines and is 80% aged in stainless steel, 20% in used barrels. It has an attractive gunflint and slightly smoky bouquet that opens with confidence in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a subtle marine influence on the entry. There is well-judged acidity and a brisk, saline finish that just could benefit from more persistence. But overall, not bad at all, and it should meliorate in bottle.
