(AG=88-91) Deep ruby. Fruity red cherry and dark plum aromas are framed by minerals, flowers, and vanilla. Sweet, juicy, and pure, with lovely vinosity to the red berry, cherry, and mineral flavors. The pure, long finish reverberates with fresh acidity. This beauty ought to be a great buy. Muriel Andraud told me this is the first vintage that she and partner Jean-Luc Thunevin are truly happy with because the vines are finally producing less. The owner of the estate used to make 100 hectoliters per hectare because he wanted to drink much of the wine himself, but now that yields are down to 40 h/h things are looking up.
(JS=89) A wine with lots of earthy, spicy, fruity character. Medium to full body, chewy tannins, and a succulent finish. Better in 2016.
(WS=87) Damson plum and Campari notes mingle with a hint of cedar. This is supple, with an easy feel through the finish. Drink now through 2015. 665 cases made.
